Week 8 Waiver Wire

The week 8 waiver wire brings new names for those who may have suffered an injury. With Kenyan Drake, Chris Carson and Odell Beckham Jr all hurt we see new opportunities for teams to improve. Whether you are a struggling team or want to boost your roster the week 8 waiver wire will help out. We have a quality quarterback streaming option for your week 8 waiver wire as well. So let us break down the players you need to target on the week 8 waiver wire. Roster percentages are ESPN roster percentages

QB Streamer

Derek Carr (25.9%)

Carr is not going to give you a huge ceiling but what he could give you is a quality 20 points. This past week he had a good performance against a tough defense. He now gets the Cleveland Browns who continue to get torched through the air. They just gave up 33 fantasy points to Burrow and while Carr is not as pass happy he could put up numbers. Stream him this week if you need a quarterback.

Teddy Bridgewater (30.6%)

It is Teddy Bridgewater time again! We started him last time he played the Falcons and we will start him again. This is everything you want in a QB streamer so pick him up and start him with confidence.

Running Backs

Carlos Hyde (5%)

With Chris Carson suffering a foot sprain Hyde becomes an important fantasy asset if he misses extended time. Hyde had 68 rush yards and a touchdown this past week as well as 3 catches. The upcoming schedule is tough but the volume should be there. It also helps the Seahawks are loaded on the outside as things could open up for Hyde. Monitor injury reports and grab him for a few weeks.

La’merical Perine (11.3%)

Perine has out snapped Gore two weeks in a row. This past week he saw 40 snaps compared to Gore’s 16. Now yes keep in mind it is the Jets and I am not expecting much out of their offense. But if the rookie continues to see snaps and can increase his touches he may be worth a roster spot. If you need depth at the running back position possibly look to grab Perine.

JaMycal Hasty (3.5%)

The 49ers pulled a fast one this week. Their plan was to rest McKinnon while playing Jeff Wilson Jr. Well Wilson Jr. got hurt and who knows what to make of this backfield. Coleman is set to return any week and Mostert is still sidelined. Hasty saw 10 snaps this week and could improve upon that this next week. A big match up against Seattle could make him a bit valuable in deeper formats.

Eno Benjamin (.02%)

With Drake out this now brings opportunity for someone to step up along side my man Chase Edmonds. I believe it is going to be Benjamin but we have time to see how this unfolds. Benjamin had a quality career in college and was a very shifty back. He is explosive when he meets the hole and excelled in the passing game. If given the opportunity he is the perfect roster stash.

Wide Receivers

Cole Beasley (41.8%)

It is officially time to roster Beasley in all your leagues. He is currently WR 19 for the season and he is becoming more and more of a safe play. He saw 12 targets this past week and he is seeing a 18.6% target share. Moving forward if Brown misses more time he will see more and more volume. Pick him up if you have not done so already.

Beasley has a very safe floor to be a play every week.

Christian Kirk (48.7%)

Kirk has been on fire lately. The last two weeks combined he has been put up close to WR 1 numbers and is getting a ton of targets. This team is going to have to be a very pass happy team if Drake is out. I expect consistent fantasy production from Kirk moving forward.

Rashad Higgins (.2%)

Higgins is going to be a nice add for teams who are struggling with receiver depth. With Beckham Jr done for the year he becomes the next man up. He saw 6 targets this past week and had a very quality week. Rookie Donavon People-Jones could also be a play but based on the snaps in previous weeks I would expect Higgins to play more. Of course the ceiling is always capped in this offense but he could be a decent play based on match up.

Tight End

Richard Rodgers (4.0%)

The Eagles consistently use their tight ends. This past week Rodgers had a very good game recording 6 catches for 85 yards. He was targeted a total of 8 times and could be heavily relied on in this offense. This next week the Eagles play the Cowboys in an important NFC East match up. I expect the team to use Rodgers a ton and he could be a stream for this week. Moving forward we will have to see how the injuries continue to impact this team.
